Day 19: January 19, 2010

Procrastination. My son has got to be the king of it. Actually, maybe procrastination isn't the right word. He is more like the king of wasting time. Seriously. You tell him to put his pajamas on and a half hour later he is still in his room fully dressed. Same thing goes with brushing his teeth. This really puts a damper on bed time. You have to start getting him ready at least an hour before so that he might be ready on time.

And let's not even bring up mornings. That is a whole other beast! I am just hoping that this is a phase that he will grow out of. Please, please, please tell me it is a phase.

  3. It is a phase. How old is he? Nathan is 9 1/2 now and he's much better about things...but when he was 7, 8, this was a problem! :)

  4. My son is the same way. A lot of it is attention span -- I'd tell him to clean his room and he'd be doing fine until he saw a toy he wanted to play with and that'd be it for cleaning!

  6. for some kids it defenitely is a phase. My daughter gets herself up and ready everyday and once my middle son is awake he does to. With my youngest who is 12 most days the bus is waiting on him to get out the door and I am struggling to get him into bed at 10:00 when I started at 8:00 telling him to get ready for bed and to go to bed at 9. He has been like this since forever LOL. Im still hoping itll catch on with him as well. With the older two starting high school really made them think twice about wasting time and not going to bed because they get up so early there was no arguing that they werent tired because most nights they fell asleep before I even told them to

  7. Mine can be like that from time to time still. I spent the better part of two months standing over them every step of the way not letting them dawdle before I saw any improvement
